Ocdantar is the new guise for Joshua Delaney. The frontman and producer in ambient electronic group Rat & Co and bassist in local Melbourne rockers SMILE, it seems a natural progression for Joshua step forward and bring forth his own tunes under a solo alias.
Over the past two years Joshua has lent his production skills to Total Giovanni, ESESE, IO, Boats and works closely with mixing magician Andrei Eremin and sound sorcerer Simon Lam.
Layering ambient vocals, crunching beats, cascading guitar melodies and glitchy organic samples, Joshua Delaney is “bridging the gap between trip-hop and the zeitgeist ambient beat-makers of now”.
Possessing a ghostly energy, newcomer LIAHONA breathes her otherworldy vocals into the song coaxing “all in for you”, alongside eerie drones.
Sky Sea Client View is available now and is the first single from Ocdantar’s debut EP ‘Time In Flux’ to be released through Smooch Records in 2016.
